Our Onboarding Process: What Happens in Your First 30 Days

“How soon does social media management start?”
“Do I have to provide the content?”
“Do I have to give you my password?”

These are some of the questions we hear most from businesses considering social media management. Handing your brand over to someone you’ve just met is a big step, and it’s natural to wonder if you’re making the right call.

So here’s exactly what happens in your first 30 days with Great Scott Social Media.

Day 1: The Discovery Chat

We start with a conversation to make sure your goals line up with what we do best. Afterward, we send a follow-up email with our package options. We’re happy to answer any questions and can customize a package to fit your needs and budget.

Week 1: Onboarding and Setup

Once you choose a package, we schedule an onboarding session. This is where we dig into the details: your goals, target audience, brand voice, competitors, past wins, and more. Afterward, we email you any unanswered questions, helpful reminders, and a request for access to a shared drive like Dropbox or Google Drive, so we have your logos, photos, and other brand assets.

We also send your contract, along with a quick summary of the key points so you know what to expect from us and what we expect from you. Once it’s signed, our team gets to work.

Next, we schedule a brief call to connect your social media accounts. We never need your passwords. You’ll just need to log in to your own Facebook (or other platform) account to give us permission to manage it, so you stay in control the whole time.

Week 2: Profile Review and Brand Foundations

With your accounts connected, we review your profiles to make sure everything is accurate and up to date, from your website link to your contact info. We also look at how your past content has performed.

Meanwhile, our graphic designer starts building your brand kit in Canva and/or Photoshop, and our copywriter develops your content pillars. If your package includes Reels, our videographer schedules your filming date as soon as possible.

Week 3: Content Creation

Now we’re in full swing: writing captions, designing graphics, and filming and editing Reels. We may reach out with a few extra requests, like behind-the-scenes photos or your latest customer testimonials.

Once everything is drafted, our editor reviews the content calendar to make sure it matches your vision and is free of typos and grammar slips. Then it comes to you for review. If you’d like any changes, we’ll send an updated version right away.

Week 4: Launch

It’s go time! Once you approve the month’s content, our scheduler makes sure each post goes out on the right profile at the right time. We keep an eye on how everything is landing to make sure the tone is on point, and our ads manager launches your first ads to drive traffic to your website (or toward whatever goal matters most to you).

End of Week 4: Your First Report

Our analytics team reviews the month’s performance and puts together a report on the highlights and what the data says is working and what isn’t. If something isn’t working, we adjust.

How You Can Help

Each month, the content creation cycle begins again. The best way to keep things running smoothly is to:

  • Respond to our requests promptly
  • Share company news and updates
  • Send us new testimonials and success stories we can feature

No Surprises

Our process is designed so you’re never left guessing. You have the final say on everything that gets published.
